Register Private DNS Domain NameServers
Use the following instructions to register your own private DNS NameServers on a domain name registered with LA Servers.
This technique is the same with all domain registrars.
Login to your domain name account using our Domain Manager by entering your username and password.
NOTE 1: You're not making changes to your domain's DNS, you're going to CREATE new Private NameServers.
- Once you're logged in to your domain name account, click NameServer Management.
- Next to the words "Create a new NameServer" click the "New" button.
- Enter the name for your new PRIMARY NameServer. It can be named anything you want but would typically be named something like ns1.YourDomainName.com or dns1.YourDomainName.com.
Also enter the IP address of your new NameServer.
NOTE 2: If you signed up for our Custom NameServer DNS Web Hosting Package, you'll find the IP addresses for your new NameServers in your Control Panel under Customer Support/Knowledge Base/ Tech Support Knowledge Base/ DNS.
- Click Continue and you will see that your new NameServer has been created.
- Then click Continue again and repeat steps 2 though 6 to register your SECONDARY NameServer.
NOTE 3: You will need to create 2 NameServers. Both Primary and Secondary NameServers are included with our Custom NameServer DNS Web Hosting Package and are Load Balanced.
